While it's common that happens, sometimes rising NBA squads fail to maintain a high level of play without any apparent reason, and sometimes old NBA squads just refuse to go away (like the Spurs).

There are many deciding factors which will help us guess how a team will do, but because we haven't gone through free agency and the summer league, we really can't make a very accurate guess right now.

Keeping that in mind, here's a slideshow of nine NBA teams on the rise for the 2011-2012 season (based on current rosters).

With the loss, New York falls 35-37, two games below .500 and two games below the sixth-seed Philadelphia 76ers. Milwaukee improves to 32-41 and edges closer to the eight-seed Indiana Pacers who currently hold a two-game lead of the Bucks.

Knicks were led by a 28 point and nine rebound effort from Amar’e Stoudemire and 25 points and eight rebounds from Carmelo Anthony. Shawne Williams added 16 points off the bench. Bucks’ Brandon Jennings had a game-high 37 points. Andrew Bogut provided a Kevin Love-like 21 points and 17 rebounds to go along with four block and three assists. Luc Richard Mbah a Moute and John Salmons added 12 and 11 points, respectively.

While the Knicks shot poorly for 40 percent from the field (36-of-90), compared with the 50.6 percent (39-of-77), what killed the Knicks was their abysmal shooting from beyond the arc. The Knicks made an appalling 4-of-18 three-point attempts for 21.1 percent, only to be outdone by Bucks’ 50 percent on 9-of-18 shooting from beyond the arc.

Toney Douglas had a particularly bad shooting night, as he made six of his 17 field goal attempts and only two of his six three-point attempts, all in 35 minutes of game-time.

In 34 minutes of play, Chauncey Billups cored seven points on 3-of-11 shooting from the field and 1-of-5 from beyond the three-point line.

Milwaukee took the Garden crowd out for the majority of the game, as the Bucks had never trailed throughout the game.

The Knicks finally got the crown involved with 10:45 to play in the fourth quarter, as Toney Douglas' three-pointer cut the Bucks lead to 82-84.

Neither team was able to gain a lead more than four points, that was up until Jennings running jumper at the 4:13 mark, which gave the Bucks a 93-88 lead.

Another make by Jennings, this time a three-pointer, forced New York to call a timeout. But this was to no avail, as the Bucks controlled the game to the final score of 102-96.

New York will attempt to improve on its 7-11 record with Anthony as they travel to Charlotte to face the 29-42 Bobcats on Saturday, March 26.
